Review of Way Out There

A QUOTE from one of the greatest talents around:

[The New Pioneers with Rusty Richards]

"If you're a purist like me and love the old original sound of the Sons of the Pioneers (and who doesn't?), then you're sure going to like this recording by The New Pioneers. Their love of the old sound is evident in every thing they do. When you hear Paul Denton's fine instrumental work behind them, you'll swear that the Farr Brothers paid them a visit during the session.

"I kept thinking I was hearing Bob Nolan or Tim Spencer or even myself once, but when I listened close it was Alan, Gene, and Ken, The New Pioneers. I've heard them many times in live performance, and have had a chance to visit with them some. They're good folks who share a love for the Old Pioneers, and for those of us who love the music of the Sons of the Pioneers any way we can get it, (and there have been some great ways over the years) this New Pioneers album is for us.

"I hope they record a whole lot more."

Rusty Richards

Rusty Richards sang with the Sons of the Pioneers for over 20 years, having replaced Tommy Doss after he left the group. Rusty continues to lend his great talents and influence in encouragement and support of western music and the musicians who share in his great love for it.
